Tarka Swim Site Bylaws.
1: Environment Agency Rod Licence and valid membership must be carried at all times and produced on request.
2: The use of illegal substances/ Drugs on site is strictly forbidden.
3: Fishing from designated swims only.
4: No Barbed/ Micro Barbed/ Crushed Barbed / Gripz hooks. Barbless Hooks only.
5: No fixed leads or feeders. Safe rigs only. Bailiffs patrol regularly and can ask to checks rigs at any time.
6: Maximum Two Rods per person. Juniors Under 13yrs Restricted to One Rod Only.
7: No Rods or Poles to be left unattended at any time. Bailiffs will wind in unattended Rods if found and the Club will not be responsible for any damage caused.
8: No Nut Baits.
9: No Keepnets Unless in Club run events.
10: All fish to be treated with care and returned to the water unharmed. Fish Antiseptic / Carp Care Kits to be used where necessary.
11: Juniors under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult. (Junior’s must not wander from lake to lake without accompanied adult)
12: Fishing from Dawn to Dusk. No night fishing unless booked Via Clubmate or Tarka/Karen's Secretary.
13: Unhooking mats must be used :-
a: When holding fish in the air for purposes of photos and weighing.
b: When removing fish from the water, nets should be placed on a mat.
c: At all times when fishing Karen's Lake.
14: All nets sling’s unhooking mats must be clean and dry before use.
15: No Litter to be left whatsoever.
16: No Boats, Including Bait Boats, Unless for organised work parties.
17: No Swimming.
18: Dogs must be kept under control at all times, any damage due to dog behaviour will be the owner’s responsibility, all dog mess must be cleared and disposed of, off site.
19: No Fires, unless during official work parties. Barbeques must be placed on gravel pathways making sure they do not obstruct other site users. All BBQs must be fully extingquished and removed from site after use.
20: Toilets to be kept clean and tidy.
21: No access to surrounding Woodland.
22: Do not destroy vegetation. No interfering with wildlife.
23: Noise to be kept to a minimum. All users must conduct themselves in a considerate and non- disruptive manner at all times.
24: No Firearms, unless AUTHORISED personnel performing scheduled predation protection.
25: Coated braid hook lengths permitted, ensure a suitable strength main line used with this method, recommend minimum 12Ib. No lead core. No UNCOATED braid hook lengths. No braided mainline on Fishing rods. (spod/marker rods ok)
26: Bideford & District Angling Club do not accept any responsibility for any loss or damage to personal property.
27: The Club reserves the right to close the lake(s) and/or site, as and when required without notice. We will always try to give notice where possible.
28: All Gates, including the Main Road Gate, MUST be kept CLOSED AT ALL TIMES when entering and leaving the site. Always Lock the padlock and clear the unlock code.
29: All lost tackle and gear (in or out of water) should be reported to a Club bailiff / secretary as soon as possible.
30: NO FISH to be transferred between Club Waters by any members. This must be done by Tarka Secretary, or Karen’s secretary.
“ Any Points that are not covered by the above set of bylaws will be dealt with by the elected committee incumbent at the time whose decision will be final”.
