Welcome to Bideford & District Angling Club. Tarka Swims.
Enquiries email bdac1enquiries@gmail.com
We had a visit by the Angling Trust Sunday 9th June, this is the feed back we received!
Hello gents,
I hope you are doing well.
First, I would like to thank you for helping me to organise the visits in Devon and Cornwall. It was fantastic!
I felt so welcomed by the fisheries and your VBSs!
I have to admit that Tarka Swims is one of the best waters I have visited in my six years at the AT. The quality of the place, with its perfect balance of nature around the lakes, impressed me greatly. Learning about its history made me realise the importance of having the right people around to achieve goals, which the anglers from Tarka have clearly done successfully. The lakes are beautiful – I will definitely be back to do some fishing there!
Gents, once again, massive well done on keeping the place in such a great condition!
Kind regards!

Please help us by completing our Enforcement Crime Survey.
Our Fisheries Enforcement work is greatly helped by reports from our Voluntary Bailiffs, anglers on the bank, and the general public. Please take a few minutes to fill in our survey to help us assess the level of fisheries-related and environmental crime that affects you within your area. Feel free to share this survey with your friends and community.
All of our Fisheries Enforcement work is funded by fishing licence income delivered in partnership with the Environment Agency.

Sewage pollution - we need your help NOW!

Dear Member
We are deeply concerned about the proposals in the government’s consultation on their storm overflow reduction plan which won’t deliver the clean water our rivers need until 2050.
We need action now to decrease the raw sewage pouring into our rivers.
There's still time to tell the government how you feel about sewage pollution – we need as many anglers and angling clubs as possible to respond to the government consultation on Storm Overflows before May 12th.
We have produced a full guide on how to do this on our website linked here.
Many thanks for your support.

Attention all Anglers
We have been made aware of the launch of a new product known as the ‘Magic Twig.’
Until we have seen this product in the flesh and made a full judgment on it, it is NOT PERMITTED to be used on any of the Tarka Swims waters.
This decision has been made with fish safety and welfare in mind, which is one of our utmost priorities. We're sure the safety aspects have been discussed and considered by the manufacturer during the development stage, but we would like to see the product before we can consider allowing it to be used on our waters.
Thank you for your cooperation.

Hi all,
Can I just make a quick point to all our lake users.
As you will all be aware the path around George’s, although really well kept is a bit tight. This means that at times there has to be a bit of give and take, can anybody walking to their pegs please be patient with anglers while they move their gear out of your way. Conversely can anglers be considerate and move their gear willingly to enable fellow anglers to get past.
We are a family friendly club, and the last thing we want is ill feeling amongst our members.
Thank You.

Polite Reminder. We are Currently a Members Only Fishery. We do not allow the sale of day tickets.

Polite reminder to all our lake users. If you are the last one off the site at the end of the day please ensure the main gates are closed and locked.
Thank you.

Save Our Seabass have launched a campaign to protest the decision for no increase in the bag limit for 2022 and no extension of the recreational bass season to match the commercial sector. They are inviting anglers to write to their MPs and get their voices heard.
